So I received this and immediately hooked it up to my Peterbilt 579.
The first thing I noticed what that it is very fast when it comes to communicating with the truck and when you're looking at the perimeters they are all updating at the same time, in real time. There is no delay as it updates each PID individually.
It shows everything you need to completely diagnose the truck and you can do it all without the laptop.
The wireless/bluetooth signal works very well and you can get a bit of distance without it losing the signal.
The battery lasts a good couple of hours and the screen is very bright.
Also the touch screen is fairly responsive, or about as much as an Android screen is.
Now for the reason that I only gave it four stars.
My ECM is password protected.
When I first received this scanner there was no option or any screen where I was able to input the password.
I had to shuffle around between emailing the manufacturer (which offered absolutely no help and told me to contact the seller) and the seller (TopTool) to find out why.
At first I was told to send a screenshot/video of the problem, and then just as I sent the screenshot I received an email saying that the feature was just now enabled on my scanner.
The fact that it isn't enable to begin with is disappointing.
After it was enabled (which they can do through the account you create when you activate the software), it appears to work well.
However, I tested another option.
I entered the wrong password, and it didn't tell me that I entered the wrong password but instead told that I have successfully unlocked the ECM.
It wasn't unlocked of course and gave me errors when I tried to change something like that speed limit... But that is something they'll have to work on.
All in all it's a very good scanner and should impress even professional mechanics that are tired of moving around laptops that keep them tethered by the truck and unable to move around the shop while looking at the data.
